Our Client is a worldwide leader in the production of specialty chemicals for maintenance and repair professionals and do-it-yourselfers, serving the automotive, heavy trucking, marine, electrical, industrial, hardware and aviation markets. They are currently looking for a Supply Chain Director EMEA ad interim.

One of the most important challenges for the Supply Chain Director ad interim will be managing the complexity of the procurement issues that constitute an important part of the role. This is due to a large number of SKU sold in the EMEA region, the management of 2 teams based in Belgium and the UK, the current shortage of different materials and the roll-out of a new ERP system.

The Supply Chain Director heads up a team of 15 Supply Chain collaborators, located in Belgium (10) and United Kingdom (5).

Other tasks may include:

Improve on both day-to-day and strategic longer term production planning
Analyze data from shipping and delivering processes to solve short-term bottlenecks and other issues, but also to develop a longer term and more strategical view, taking into account that there are 5 warehouses across Europe, of which only one is 3PL
Evaluate and report on KPIs
Train and guide employees
Resolve issues that come up (e.g. delays in delivery) in close liaison with the Operations Director who is based in the UK
Collaborate with other departments to create coordinated plans for business growth
Ensure supply chain processes meet legal requirements and standards
Communicate and negotiate with suppliers and vendors to ensure sufficient and timely supply at acceptable pricing

Minimum 10 years of experience as a Supply Chain Director or Operations Director in a manufacturing industry.
Experience with Dangerous Goods is a big plus, as our Client works with flammable solvents and aerosols
Affinity with the procurement and use of relatively standard chemical components is important.
Knowledge of working in a B2B environment with a large customer base: the Client's 4,000 distributors who then sell on to the end client
Ability to manage all logistical aspects of supply chain, including container shipments
Understanding of EHS regulations & able to comprehend legal documents.
Integrity and honesty
Experienced people manager who communicates well and can motivate and coach a team to peak performance
Fluency in English as well as Dutch
First of all a hands-on person, also able to develop a more strategic view on key supply chain activities
Excellent organizational and leadership skills

6 Months Interim Management assignment.

The Supply Chain Director ad interim will be responsible for the Supply Chain activities, with a major focus on the procurement aspects of this role for the production sites in Belgium and the UK.
