The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the following departments :

• fleet (Caterpillar - Volvo – Liebherr trucks) at Phoenix own garage facility
• welding
• electro-mechanical Installations (screening machines - mobile installations for waste recuperation and treatment including conveyor belts, electrical motors, gripper arms)

The position is also in charge of:

• The organizational development of the team: defining the team structure and members, their schedules, assignments and work allocation. In total the maintenance team consists of 15 people, spread over the 2 sites (Fos-sur-Mer and Bayonne)
• Establishing in accordance with the Group’s intentions and according to the needs of the department: operational reporting via a dashboard ; KPI’s: achieving and executing them ;
• Initiating, following up and optimizing stock management.
• Ensuring availability of the various vehicles, machines and installations by setting up an adequate follow-up and preventive maintenance schedule;
• Conducting cost studies and adjust work schedules in order to contain and/or minimize costs
• Increasing the availability of the vehicle fleet through improved performance and efficiency of the workshop; integration of the maintenance of fixed installations in the planning; follow-up of maintenance and maintenance schedules
• The overall aim is to set up a workable system of preventive maintenance and follow-up of maintenance activities that leads to higher efficiency and availability that has a structural positive impact on the bottom line of the sites’ activities.

• Be familiar with a (heavy) industrial environment
• Open to take on the challenge to move the maintenance organization from a traditional heavy industry approach to the a up-to-date modern (high tech) maintenance one.
• You are an all-round senior and seasoned maintenance manager, affinity with automation is a big plus.
• Ability to manage from a distance, as there are 2 sites involved which are 600 km apart. You will be based in Fos-sur-Mer which is the major site, and you will be travelling to the Bayonne site in principle twice a month for a period of 2-3 days each.
• Have experience in carrying out audits in the context of the ISO and maintenance schedules
• Sound knowledge of Excel (macros), PowerPoint/Microsoft Power BI, knowledge of E-maint is a plus.
• Fluency in French & Dutch and good professional working knowledge of English (as the company is part of a US group and hence the language of the management), Spanish is a plus.
