Sales Manager Caterpillar Congo

Congo Equipment is the exclusive Caterpillar dealer in the provinces of Haut Katanga, Lualaba, Haut Lomami and Tanganyika. 

Congo Equipment supplies, distributes and maintains Caterpillar civil engineering machinery, equipment and generators for the mining industry, construction and energy production.

We are looking for a Sales Manager for Caterpillar based in Lubumbashi.

As a strong people manager, you lead the 5 sales representatives

  • Ensure that the sales team is prospecting for new customers and markets for new and used machines
  • Definition of the requirements for the stock of machines, placement of orders in the system
  • Customer satisfaction
  • Detecting new needs of our existing customers. (This requires daily on-site travel)
  • Ensure an active competitive intelligence (products, solutions, prices, services.)
  • Be a leader in the company's marketing actions (promotion, pricing).
  • Maintain the company's representations and references
  • Ensure that the sales team responds to consultations and calls for tender:
  • Anticipate, size and cost with the help of the technical department all the equipment and services required for the project
  • Write the technical specifications of the proposed equipment.
  • Quantify the additional services with the help of the After-Sales Service.
  • Write and validate the technical-commercial offer
  • Transmit the offer to the customer
  • Follow our offers (presentations, clarifications, reminders...)
  • Ensure the feeding of our CRM (Odoo)
  • Negotiate with our customers (with the support of the technical department and the sales manager, when necessary)

Specific challenges:

  • Ability to work in challenging and demanding environments
  • Build partnership with your clients based on trust, skills, right people and committed strategy
  • You like heavy machinery and the special mining environment in Congo
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or equivalent in a related field.
  • At least 10 years’ experience in the position.
  • Experience in mining sector is a big plus almost a must
  • Technical understanding of CAT machines/equipment will be an added advantage
  • Have skills in sales techniques and interpersonal skills with customers.
  • Excellent Team Manager

  • Open to different cultures
  • Knowledge of the usual computer tools (Microsoft Office)
  • Driving license
  • Languages: English and French

Interim management for 6 months with the opportunity to continue on a permanent contract
